Northern Caribbean University is searching for a professional, with vision, to serve as the University Librarian. This individual will be the administrator of the main campus library and its three extension sites; five (5) librarians, five (5) library technical assistants, and approximately eighty-five (85) student workers.

Responsibilities: The University Librarian is responsible for organizing and maintaining the library according to standard procedures, and in harmony with the mission and objectives of the university; preparing reports and library self-studies; preparing and expending budgets; chairing the Library Committee; recommending staff for employment, deployment and dismissal; promoting the library's resources; facilitating professional development of the staff and faculty, formulating policies; participating on various committees — locally and nationally; and representing the institution at professional library organization and association meetings.

Qualifications: The qualified candidate will be knowledgeable of the role of libraries in higher education; well-informed about library trends and practices; possess strong administrative and organizational skills; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; promote collaboration with the university's administration, faculty and staff; and possess excellent interpersonal skills. This team player will possess a Masters Degree in Library or Information Science. An earned doctorate in Library or Information Science or a related field is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years experience in an academic library, with at least two (2) years experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred. The candidate must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
