WEATHER:

Expect rain and cooler temperatures (30-60 degrees Fahrenheit). Some rooms are not well heated. Be sure to pack warm clothes and an umbrella. Plan on dressing in layers so that you can adjust to varying temperatures.

CURRENCY:

Most businesses will accept U.S. dollar bills but will give the change in pesos; however, it is better to pay in pesos. Do not accept IOUs that look like the peso currency on one side and text on the other side. They cannot be exchanged for foreign currency and they are hard to get rid of. The best advice is for you to get pesos from an ATM machine in small amounts to reduce surplus of pesos at the end of your stay in Argentina.

Few business will take credit cards at no extra cost. Traveler's checks are accepted only in tourist areas. ATM at local bank can provide cash in pesos ONLY charged to Visa, Master, or ATM cards with the Cirrus or VisaPlus services.
