(hide description)Writing in 1909, Sam Foss in "Some Cardinal Principles of a Librarian's World" said, "A dollar bill that never circulates is not worth as much as a cent that keeps moving. Nearly every librarian ought to double the circulation of his books..." A lofty goal, but how do you get your faculty and students to use and value the resources and services that you offer? First, we will look at some of the basic principles of successful marketing and specific strategies that have worked in school libraries. Second, we will break into small groups and you will be given the opportunity to discuss concerns, formulate plans for change, and share things that have worked for you. Books that sit on the shelf and databases that are never used are not worth much. What have done to get those feet in the door? We will learn from each other.

- This electronic poster session depicts the process involved in producing short animated tutorials with voiceover to incorporate in the Library Web site and course management software to use for library instruction for on and off-campus patrons. It includes the basics of working with Camtasia software and examples of short tutorials.

- Pattern of Information Sourcing and Utilization by Nigerian Private University Students: A Case Study of Babcock University
- Three hundred sixty students were studied for patterns in their usage of the library. The majority of the students were aware of library hours; however, they use it primarily for teacher-induced assignments and activities. Lack of space, current materials, and reliable electric power are obstacles to students' usage of the library.

(hide description)In order to explore and quantify the extent to which the library at Babcock University has influenced developing extra-curricular interests in students, a study of 260 students was undertaken. Reading for pleasure ranked lowest among all extra-curricular activities included in the survey.
